Cal. 315 S QR nickel-finished lever movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 31 jewels, Gyromax balance, free sprung regulator, gold rotor, the silvered matt dial with applied baton numerals, arched retrograde calendar ring with Arabic numerals and central date hand, three windows for leap year indicator, day and month, aperture for phases of the moon, the circular water-resistant-type case with glazed screw back, downturned lugs, together with an 18K gold Patek Philippe buckle, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificat d'Origine and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1993 and its subsequent sale on 15 December 1993. It is the first time that it is offered in public.

The Certificat d'Origine dated 15 December 1993 does not mention the sweep centre seconds as the hand has been removed upon request by the present owner.

Reference 5050 is fitted with the rare caliber 315 S QR, featuring the unusual and rare retrograde date indication. This caliber was reserved for only two models, the present one and reference 5059.
