With nickel-finished lever movement, 17 jewels, the silvered matt dial with luminous Arabic numerals, luminous hands, outer tachometer and telemeter scales, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30 minutes registers, in large circular water-resistant-type case with screw back and screw down crown, two round chronograph buttons in the band, together with a stainless steel link bracelet signed Rolex and GF for Gay Frères, case signed Oyster Watch Co., dial signed Rolex and Bucherer's, movement signed Rolex

Lot Essay

Production of reference 3525 was launched in the 1940s. Different versions in regard to case material, dial etc., including models signed Oyster Watch Co., are illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 162-192.

Gay Frères, located in Geneva, were specialised in manufacturing jewelry but were also renowned for producing high quality bracelets for wristwatches.
