Artists
Hap Hadley (1895-1976), Albert Hirshfeld (b.1903), William Chantrell (b.1916) and René Peron (1904-197) are some of the most notable artists associated with movie poster design. There are some artists however whose visions were very different to those of their contemporaries and for whom movie posters provided the perfect medium for expression. These visionaries include Paul Colin, Saul Bass and Jean Burkhalter, and the posters in the following section represent some of the most outstanding examples of their work.
