Finely carved in shallow relief to form a ruyi-head, the upper-facing side of the cover with a raised border emerging from linked C-curls below the tails of a pair of ascending chilong, divided by a Shou roundel, the lobed vertical sides conforming to the ruyi-head shape, carved with kui dragons within panels
