A WELL-PRESENTED AND DETAILED EARLY 19TH-CENTURY NAPOLEONIC FRENCH PRISONER-OF-WAR BOXWOOD AND COPPER MODEL OF A 74-GUN ROYAL NAVY FRIGATE
with bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging, dolphin-striker, carved and painted wood warrior figurehead, catheads, metal anchors and stocks, belaying rails, capstan, stove pipe, ballustraded well-deck, companionways, water barrels, double helm, deck lights, two ship's boats in rigging, brass guns in stepped carriages and other details. The hull with solid copper plating below the waterline, chain plates and deadeyes, finely carved stern and quarter gallerys and rudder, is secured within wooden rests and pinned to a contemporary straw-work base, resting on a display base with glass dome cover. Model measurements -- 10 x 13in. (25 x 33cm.); Dome measurements -- 13 x 18in. (33 x 46cm.)
