Lot Essay

The sitter was the daughter of Henry Herbert, 1st Earl of Carnarvon, and Elizabeth Alicia Maria, daughter of the 1st Earl of Egremont. She married Thomas Reynolds, 1st Earl of Ducie, in December 1797, and died on 22 August 1830.
