Finely-bound in later dark blue crushed morocco gilt by Birdsall, original limp vellum wrappers bound in at end, top edges gilt, others uncut (rubbing to upper joints and edges). Provenance: "Alexandra" (signature on title - a loosely-inserted autograph slip states: "This is the signature of Queen Alexandra of Yougoslavia [sic] from whom I received it. M.V."); "I. Maude Molesworth from Minnie Plowden September 1881" (very faded inscription on front free endpaper).
