maker 'DMC' a crown above, marked, Geneva, circa 1780
Oval box, the cover, sides and base centred by oval matted gold reserves chased with altars of love, flowers and trophies of music, adorned with trophies of love, music, harvest and gardening hung from ribbons and laurel festoons, all on horizontally reeded panels, the matted gold borders chased with intertwined flutes enclosing laurel and rosettes, bright-cut rims
