Perhaps a bridle ornament, the long openwork plaque formed of five pairs of stag heads, joined at the necks to form a pattern of openwork lozenges, the heads facing downward in profile, with an eye, ear and horn depicted, the mouths open with the tongues lolling, two loops for attachment on the reverse
