ATTRIBUTED TO THE CIRCLE OF THE UNDERWORLD PAINTER
CIRCA 340-320 B.C.
With a standing woman and an attendant within an Ionic naiskos with an ivy wreath on its plinth, both in extensive added white wearing long pleated chitons, the woman also wrapped in a himation, holding a mirror in her extended right hand, the attendant holding a two-handled cista, a kalathos between them, fillets and a window in the field, the naiskos framed by four offering bearers, three draped woman and one nude youth; with a band of meander and dotted crossed squares encircling the vessel below the scene, a spray of laurel centered by a rosette on the neck, dotted ovolo on the rim, a large palmette complex surrounding the handles, rays around the handle joins, extensive use of added white and yellow throughout
