woodcut, circa 1496, from the Latin text edition of 1511, an early impression from this edition with only one gap in the upper border, trimmed to the border, a short (5 mm.) tear at the right sheet edge, a thin patch on the reverse at the upper left, scattered foxing, otherwise generally in good condition; with BHendrik Goltzius, after Caravaggio, 'Eight Deities' (B. 249-56; Holl. 296-303) the complete set of eight engravings, 1592, with the numbers, second state or later (of four), B. 249 with this number burnished out, each with margins, each with a horizontal drying crease visible on the reverse, occasional pale foxing and surface dirt, B. 249 with a small area of surface skinning lower left, otherwise generally in good condition
