A German silver-gilt tankard
Struck with counterfeited marks, Hanneau, 19th century
Slightly tapering cylindrical on moulded foot decorated with scrolling foliage, the body with a scene of a king surrounded by scrolling foliage and flowers, double scroll handle shaped as a woman, hinged domed cover with foliate border and shaped final, woman-shaped thumbpiece, the base engraved with monogram under coronet, marked on base
12.5 cm. high
298 gr.
The monogram is that of Kurfürst Friedrich Wilhelm I von Hessen who was born 20 August 1802.
