Holy-water fond struck 0I13 and VS conjoined, 19th century; the sauce-boat struck with counterfeited marks, Germany, 19th century; cups struck 800, Germany, circa 1900, one stamped F. LODHOLZ
The first of traditional form, the fond chased and embossed with flowers and foliage, wavy rim, the backplate openworked with scrolling foliage enclosing Maria with Child on her left arm, a putto at her right; the sauce-boat on shaped oval tray attached to the boat-shaped body, wavy rims with scrolling foliate decoration and six cylindrical tapering cups, four engraved with crest, two inscribed with various text, marked on rim, tray and base
