MAKER'S MARK F*P, ROME, 1809-1811
The circular pedestal base supported on four paw feet, supporting a bronze stem modelled as a Egyptian figure, which supports the flower swag decorated font with a butterfly decorated screen - 12½in. (32cm.) high.

Lot Essay

There are four Roman goldsmiths during this period to whom this piece may be attributed. They are Filippo Pacetti (1809-1857), Filippo Palmes (1795-1840), Felice Paternò (1807-1841) and Filippo Piccardi (1785-1832).
