Lot Essay

The above vesta case was presented to George Gunn after his first overseas tour with England in Australia in 1907-08. In the series Gunn scored 119 and 74 in the First Test, 122 not out in the Fifth, and headed the batting figures for the Tour with an average of 51. The case was later given to Sid Moon, and thence by descent.
