A LIVERPOOL INSCRIBED AND DATED BALUSTER MUG
1792, JOHN AND JANE PENNINGTON'S FACTORY
With moulded double-scroll handle, painted with a gentleman seated in a ladder-back armchair before a tripod table with a decanter and pipe before him, holding a glass of ale, beneath a tree flanked by two female oriental attendants and inscribed JAMES BOULTON, 1792 and between iron-red loop line and dot-pattern rims (small crack and damage to rim, some staining to rim and handle)
