Approximately 195 autographs in two autograph albums and approximately 35 loose black and white publicity photographs, some autographed, 1940s-1950s, some secretarial, subjects include: Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy on one page; Spike Milligan (the page additionally annotated with his self-portrait caricature inscribed One Of The Goons); Dinah Sheridan; Sybil Thorndike; Max Wall; Jack Parnell; Dickie Valentine; George Formby (2, one on a photograph); Anne Ziegler; Norman Wisdom (2, one on a photograph); Hattie Jacques; Frankie Howerd; Coral Browne; Max Bygraves; Arthur Askey; and Tommy Trinder (a lot)

Lot Essay

According to the vendor, the majority of these autographs were obtained during the 1940s-1950s. The vendor's family became friendly with Vic Finnegan who funded many theatres in the Midlands at the time, and entertained many of the actors in his home.
