8o (149 x 99 mm). 19 leaves (of 20?). Collation: A-B8 [C]4 (-[C]4, presumably a blank). 2 full-page woodcut anatomical illustrations (ruled border and a few small details hand-colored in brown). (Some minor marginal stains.) Modern red morocco gilt, edges gilt. Provenance: early owner's inscription dated 1576; Prof. A. Bernardes de Oliveira (bookplate), sale Swann Galleries, 1 October 1981, lot 140.

EXTREMELY RARE: this is the only copy to appear at auction since it sold previously in 1981. An alphabetically arranged summary of presciptions compiled from the works of Mesue by Desparts, a physician in ordinary to Charles VII.
