Lot Essay

Pacelot was a bay colt bred in Ireland by Mr. Stafford in 1840, by Birdcatcher out of Novice by Zealot. His dam's career is unusual in that after producing Pacelot she was put back into training and produced her next foal ten years later in 1850, by which time she was fourteen. Pacelot ran for Mr. Stafford and then Mr. Baker in several races at the Curragh in 1844 and 1845, before being retired to stud.
