JIMI HENDRIX CONCERT VENUE CONTRACT
1970
A printed contract between the City of Houston and promoter Concerts West to host a Jimi Hendrix performance at the Sam Houston Coliseum on June 6, 1970. According to the contract, Hendrix's promotion company paid $850 to the City of Houston in order to lease the Coliseum for one night. Hendrix was scheduled to return to Houston a few months later in September of that year, but died in Europe shortly before he was to return to the United States.
