SEX PISTOLS SIGNED CONTRACT
1977
A five page contract covering royalty provisions for the Sex Pistols, Warner Bros. Records and Malcolm McLaren's management company, Glitterbest. John Lyndon (Johnny Rotten), John Beverley (Sid Vicious), Paul Cook and Stephen Jones of the Sex Pistols all signed the contract on the fifth page, as well as McLaren's co-director of Glitterbest, Stephen Fisher. Dated October 10, 1977, just days before the release of the Sex Pistols' debut album, Never Mind The Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols, part of the contract deals with the Russ Meyer and Roger Ebert film with which the Sex Pistols were involved. That film was later abandoned in favor of The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle. Of note is the unusual appearance of Sid Vicious' given name as John Beverley rather than his more recognized name John Simon Ritchie; Beverley being the surname of Vicious' mother, Ann Beverley. Also present is a letter of authenticity.
