A very rare Carette/Schönner spirit-fired Captive Track Train Set
Cat. Ref. 139-1, 1 A (2-2-0) Locomotive in polished brass with green wheels, with GC&Co plate on rear of bunker, with single vertical oscillating cylinder in bunker space, cranked to flywheel and geared to rear axle, fitted with two-wick spirit lamp, safety-valve and whistle, two-axle tender, painted in red and gold-lined green and light grey, two-axle coaches with open verandahs - one in dark oxide brown with red and gold lining with grey interior and one in green with gold and red lining and grey interior and two-axle open wagon, painted in red-lined blue with grey interior, all wheels painted green, with very rare set of twelve dished captive track sections, with special pressed edge flanges, to make circle of track, in original wooden box with illustrated lid, circa 1887 (VG-E, some paint loss to open wagon, box G)
