Tasting note: The outstanding, rich, dark ruby/purple-colored 1995 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Reservée reveals evidence of exposure to new oak casks (check out the pain grille notes). An impressive, full-bodied vin de garde, this classic, well-endowed wine offers plenty of smoke, black fruits, cherries, hickory, and barbeque-like scents, along with copious quantities of fruit and structure. Drink this rich, impressively-endowed Chateauneuf du Pape between 1999-2015. The Cuvée Reservée represents a selection from 70-100-year old vines. It is made only in top vintages.
