A FRANKENTHAL CHINOISERIE SAUCER
CIRCA 1765, BLUE CROWNED CT MONOGRAM, BLUE DOTS TO FOOTRIM AND INCISED HB
Made as a replacement for an earlier Meissen service, painted with a seated Oriental fishing, within a shaped quatrefoil cartouche gilt with scrolls enclosing gold lustre sections and issuing shaded iron-red scrolling leaves, within a Gitterwerk border and gilt-line rim, iron-red concentric circles to the underside (two triangular sections broken from rim and restored with associated crack and small restuck section to footrim, another small chip to footrim, small areas of wear to cartouche)
