A ZÜRICH FIGURE OF AFRICA FROM A SET OF THE FOUR CONTINENTS
CIRCA 1770, BLUE Z/.. MARK
Probably modelled by Joseph Nees, standing with her right hand resting on a stack of bales, wearing a plumed white and gilt turban, a fur-lined pale-yellow coat over a pink dress with gilt stripes and puce pattern, on a grassy rocky mound on a shallow oval plinth base (chipping and associated old restoration to her left thumb and index finger, some small areas of flaking to enamels on mound)
