A Swiss silver verge pocket watch with inverted verge escapement
First half 18th century
The gilt chain fusee verge movement with the balance wheel visible through the dial plate and consequently inverted escapement, the top plate with engraved regulation scale and floral scrolls, the chased and engraved gilt dial plate with offset white enamel dial showing Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, two subsidiary enamelled inserts depicting a man and his wife, in plain silver case
