A French brass lantern timepiece with pull quarter repeat and alarm
Unsigned. Late 18th Century
The circular dial overlaid with a foliate cast dial plate with engraved concentric Arabic chapters and inner blue painted Roman enamel cartouche, blued steel hour and minute hands, centred by a brass calibrated alarm disc, the movement with four circular section pillars, the bell atop secured by four brass straps and surmounted by a finial, the going train with verge escapement and steel spring-suspended bob pendulum, pull quarter-repeat on two bells via two hammers, the alarm train to the rear of the movement with double-ended hammer
