The case of arched form with brass line inlay and standing on a moulded plinth, glazed circular silvered dial engraved Julien Le Roy, eccentric raised silvered Roman chapter ring for the hours and minutes with blued steel moon hands beneath a calendar dial with outer concentric date ring and inner day of week ring, the twin barrel movement with circular brass plates, the coup perdu escapement planted on the backplate signed Julien Le Roy, à Paris, the hours striking on a bell via countwheel also planted on the backplate, later gridiron pendulum
