A brass carriage timepiece with alarm and sweep seconds
Circa 1890
The white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with blued steel hands and sweep centre seconds, alarm ring below (lacking hand), the movement with tandem going barrels within a sub-assembly beneath the movement terminating with a vertical pin-pallet type escapement with solid brass 'scape wheel with flat blued steel hairspring, the alarm striking on a bell secured to the backplate
