The waved toprail above a padded back, seat and arms covered in salmon foliate silk damask, above a waved apron carved with foliage, on foliage-carved cabriole legs with scrolled feet, the back right leg replaced, the arms repolished and repaired

Lot Essay

A mahogany armchair of this model was possibly supplied to John, 4th Duke of Bedford (1710-1771) and is in The Racing Room at Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire (Woburn Abbey, 1995, p. 13).
