Recognised as the first systematic atlas of pathological illustrations, this work, originally published in ten fascicles from 1799-1802 before being issued in book form in 1803, was designed to accompany Baillie's Morbid Anatomy of 1793. "The plates were drawn by William Clift, who became the first curator of the Hunterian Museum, founded by Baillie's uncle John Hunter, at the Royal College of Surgeons" [Heirs of Hippocrates]
