Lot Essay

Born in Nimes, Arus studied at L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts at Marseille and at Pils. Painting mainly military subjects, he exhibited at the Salon from 1874 until his death. He was awarded the Medaille d'Argent in 1900 and the Legion d'honneur in 1906. Examples of his work are exhibited in the Bayeux Museum.
