8o (249 x 164 mm). Original half vellum over pale blue boards, arms of the collector in gilt on upper cover, red morocco lettering piece, t.e.g., others uncut (endpapers browned, lower portion of spine split). Provenance: Sir Charles Tennant (presentation inscription, bookplate).
PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY MCGEORGE TO SIR CHARLES TENNANT on the front free endpaper: "Sir Chas Tennant Bart With kind regards BBM." The privately printed catalogue, on handmade paper, of the library formed by Macgeorge, of Glasgow, describing an early stage of the library's development (at this time it was principally strong in nineteenth century literature), but already containing the third and fourth Shakespeare folios. When he subsequently acquired the first and second, the four together realized £10,000 circa 1904. "He had beautiful Blakes, fine copies of all the great English classics and many scarce items in eighteenth century literature; also some literary autographs of the best quality" (De Ricci).
