The handsome privately printed catalogue of a 19th-century Scottish collector and industrialist, Sir Charles Tennant. He also formed an important collection of paintings, and was made a trustee of the National Gallery in 1894. The catalgue was compiled by C.J. Toovey, the son of the London bookseller James Toovey.
