Sale catalogue of the printed books in the Lansdowne library, formed by the first Marquis of Lansdowne, better known as Lord Shelburne, one of the most unpopular statesmen of his time, though he was instrumental in concluding the peace treaty between America and Britain; he was a generous patron of literature.
