8o (223 x 145 mm). Stipple-engraved frontispiece portrait of Reed (some light offsetting and spotting, frontispiece reinforced at inner margin). Contemporary red half morocco, drab paper boards, spine gilt, uncut (some rubbing to spine, corners and edges bumped).

PRICED in a contemporary hand. Reed, literary historian and editor of Shakespeare and other dramatic works, amassed a large library rich in English dramatic literature, poetry, and pamphlets. Sold posthumously in 1807, the sale lasted 39 days and the 8,957 lots realized a total of £4386.19.6. De Ricci, p. 63.
