The sale catalogue of the collection of John Pearson, founder of John Pearson & Co., one of the most important London rare bookdealers from 1870 onward, but "separated from the firm many years since" (De Ricci). The firm appears to have continued under different ownership, at least until 1924 when a large portion of its stock was sold at Sotheby's. De Ricci, p. 197. Not in Blogie.
