2 parts in one volume, 8o (224 x 140 mm). Contemporary green quarter straight-grained morocco, marbled boards, vellum corners, spine gilt, uncut, largely unopened (some light rubbing at joints and ends of spine).
A rare catalogue of the first private library formed by Count Boutourlin, one of the most outstanding book collectors in 19th-century Russia. Completely destroyed in Napoléon's burning of Moscow, the count's library contained 4,003 printed books and 24 manuscripts. After retiring to Florence, the count assembled a second collection, which was sold in a series of three sales in 1839-1841 (see lot 565). Brunet I:1642.
