BOCHER, Edouard (1811-1900) and Emmanuel (1835-1919). Nos livres. Catalogue de la bibliothèque. Paris: [privately printed] "59, Rue de Varenne," 1896.

Large 8o (280 x 188 mm). Title printed in red and black. Contemporary half brown crushed levant morocco, t.e.g., others uncut, by Riviere. Provenance: Sir Charles Tennant (1823-1906), industrialist, art patron and collector (presentation inscription from E. Bocher: "to my dear friend, the father of Mrs. Graham Smith," bookplate).

Apparently one of a small number of privately printed copies by Chamerot & Renouard on handmade paper for Bocher Père & Fils. Edouard was senator during the Second Republic, was a "Grand amateur de livres (qui) avait réuni une splendide collection d'ouvrages à gravures." His son Emmanuel followed as a bibliophile after serving in the military until 1875.
