Catalogue of selected rarities in the Bibliotheca Garellia in Vienna. Pius Nikolaus Garelli, physician to Emperor Karl VI and librarian of the Hofbibliothek, to which he had bequeathed his library, except for duplicates which were inherited by his son. The latter died at the age of 22, and bequeathed his books to the nation. Emperess Maria-Theresa ordered them to be deposited in the "Theresianum." Denis, Jesuit and poet, known especially as the translator of Ossian, is also one of the most important 18th-century Austrian bibliographers. The catalogue is divided into four groups: incunabula, Viennese imprints to 1560, rare books, and valuable sets, all described with bibliographical details and notes on contents, rarity and prices.
