MÉJAN, Etienne, Comte (1766-1846) -- Verzeichniss von Incunabeln, Aldinen, Etiennes, Elzeviren und andern werthvollen Werken...aus der Königlichen und der Mejan'schen Bibliothek. Berlin: W. Hertz, 28 July 1851.

Méjan was a councilor of state to Eugène de Beauharnais in Milan, whom he followed into his Munich exile; his superb library of nearly 14,000 volumes, bound by the best Parisian binders of the day, was purchased after his death by King Frederick William IV of Prussia for the Berlin Royal Library, which, in the above sale, disposed of the duplicates, keeping whatever were considered the better copies; thus, half the incunabula, some Aldines, half of the classical and more recent works, and almost all the Estiennes and Elzevirs here offered were Mijan copies.
