A Canton fan, the silk leaf embroidered in coloured silks with a hawk, grasshoppers and roses, the verso with butterflies and roses, the variegated sticks alternately of ivory and tortoiseshell, thus one guardstick is ivory, the other tortoiseshell--12.25in. circa 1870 in fitted lacquer box
