A cabriolet fan signed Van Garden, the leaves painted with ten vignettes with lovers in 18th century dress, a lady serenaded by a gentleman playing a guitar, an elderly man doffing his hat to two lovers, two chateaux and a village, the verso lined with silk gauze, the blonde tortoiseshell sticks carved, pierced and gilt with flowers and arranged so that the guardsticks and four sticks are displayed across the leaves, the verso signed Ernest Kees--9.5in., French, circa 1890
