A black-dip stoneware jug
probably by Samuel Alcock, the white stoneware body encased in black and moulded with a scene probably representing the Siege of Acre in 1799, Sir Sydney Smith depicted to each side under the Union Flag with his forces about him confronting enemy soldiers, with ornate moulded loop handle -- 13½in. (34.2cm.) high, 19th century (firing cracks)
