Both figures modelled standing foursquare on a rectangular base, the heads raised and turned slightly to the left, the body of one horse covered in a straw glaze with large splashes of amber, the mane and blaze covered in amber glaze and the saddle cloth in straw glaze, the body of the other horse covered with an amber glaze, the mane and blaze straw-glazed, the saddle and saddle cloth covered in a soft leaf-green glaze

The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test nos. C101g86 and C101g87 are consistent with the dating of this lot.
