One a baluster vase decorated with two unusual leafy fronds bearing various flowers alternating with two highly stylized foliate sprays, all pendent from a narrow border at the base of the neck; and a beaker vase decorated with figures engaged in various pursuits, the rounded center section painted with a band of detached floral sprays

Lot Essay

A garniture of five vases, consisting of three baluster vases with covers and two beaker vases, with the same unusual design as that on the baluster vase, from the collection formed by the first Viscount Leverhulme, in the Lady Lever Art Gallery, Port Sunlight, is illustrated by R.L. Hobson, Chinese Porcelain and Wedgwood Pottery, London, 1928, pl. 13, no. 74.
