KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
Carved with a central band of highly stylized taotie masks divided into quadrants by vertical straps, below a band of upright blades on the neck which is applied with two black-washed biscuit lion-mask and fixed-ring handles, with a reverse-decorated six-character seal mark in archaistic characters within a double ring

Lot Essay

A possible reading of the mark is 'Yongzuo fuyi zunyi quan', 'Made to be used as Quan Fu Yi's sacrificial vessel'. 'Quan' is probably a clan symbol.
