A Shibuichi Daisho (Pair of Tsuba)
Edo period (19th century), the dai signed Nifuken Kunitoshi [Yasuchika Kunitoshi (1787-1852)] and inscribed Hanabusa Itcho gafu [style of Hanabusa Itcho (1650-1724)]; the sho signed Kunitoshi rokujuyonsai (age 64) and dated Kaei san kikutsuki (1850)
The pair polished with a dark brown shibuichi finish and decorated with the Four Sleepers in katakiri-bori, the daito tsuba with Bukan Zenji with his tiger and the shoto tsuba with Kanzan and Jittoku
