Lacquered on the front in kinji and decorated with a squirrel leaping from a tree in brown, gold, silver and red takamaki-e, the squirrel's eye inlaid in red stone, the reverse designed with two grey birds before a berry-laden vine in gold and silver takamaki-e and gold togidashi against a roiro-nuri ground, interiors black, red lacquer with fundame edges; fitted with cylindrical soft-metal ojime with plants in gold and shakudo and a lacquered wood netsuke of a bridge post
