Lot Essay

This worked beloged to Paul-Elie Gernez (1888-1948), who was a painter and illustrator based in Honfleur. At first he was interested by the Cubism movement but soon went back to the study of nature, mainly concentrating on landscape, still-life and marine. He had several exhibitions in Paris in the 1920s and a retrospective in 1969.
